‘A Dead Singer’ is not to be confused with the unconnected Jerry Cornelius story called ‘Dead Singers’ (q.v., 1971), although it does feature the character Shakey Mo Collier (from the Cornelius series) in a ‘faction’ (“a story about someone who lives or has lived in the twentieth century”) alongside a resurrected Jimi Hendrix. To add to the confusion, ‘A Dead Singer’ also had a one-off retitling as ‘Dead Singers’ in the collection Lunching With The Antichrist (1995).
