In 1966 Moorcock edited, pseudonymously, nine issues of a “soft porn” magazine called Golden Nugget, acquired by the then-publishers of New Worlds (the SF magazine which he also, and proudly, edited at the time [q.v.]), and in so doing attempted to bring a much broader remit to the ‘adult’ publication. The magazine’s British contents combined original material (often by New Worlds [or associated] writers/artists) with material from the contemporaneous American Nugget magazine (the basis for its British incarnation).
