Science Fantasy (digest) magazine was preceded by three issues of the fanzine, Science-Fantasy Review (1949/’50), formerly called just Fantasy Review (15 issues, 1947–’49), which itself was a post-War revival of an earlier fanzine, Scientifiction: The British Fantasy Review (7 issues, 1937–’38).  All three fanzine titles were edited by Walter Gillings, who went on to edit the first two issues of Science Fantasy including short fiction not already used in another (short-lived) Gillings-edited digest, Fantasy: The Magazine Of Science Fiction (3 issues, 1946/’47).
